Management Biographies
Douglas Cole, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Director
Douglas Cole is the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Director at pan (Performance Assessment Network, Inc.) a TALX Company. Doug was a co-founder of pan and was instrumental with the incorporation of the company in April of 2000. He possesses more than 20 years experience in business unit leadership including senior-level operations, financial management, system development and program management. As Chief Operating Officer, he oversees the pan business unit for TALX Corporation and oversees all sales, operations, IT and financial management of the company. He received his BS degree in Finance from Indiana University and graduated from the MBA executive program of Dana Corporation.
Reid E. Klion, Ph.D., Chief Science Officer
Reid Klion, Ph.D. is an expert in area of Web-based assessment. He is actively involved in scientific, regulatory, and industry issues related to personnel assessment and testing and been involved with pan since its inception in 2000. Dr. Klion has published extensively, presents regularly at international professional conferences, and is a member of the APA, SIOP, and IPAC (formerly IPMAAC). He was Co-Chair of the 2007 IPMAAC Conference, formerly served as Chair of the Association of Test Publishers (ATP) Industrial-Organizational Division, and is currently on the ATP Board of Directors. He is a graduate of Hobart College and Miami University.
Paul Clark, Vice President of Operations
Paul Clark has more than 20 years operations management experience in a variety of industries, extensive experience in leadership and direction in the development of start-up business ventures with a high degree of self-initiative and adaptability. Mr. Clark holds his PMP certification from the Project Management Institute. Mr. Clark is responsible for the overall vision, leadership and direction for the company’s project management, implementation, client relationship management and testing center operations. He provides support and direction for the planning, coordination, and execution of team efforts to ensure successful completion of all aspects of our client’s assessment programs. Additionally, following the initial project implementation, Mr. Clark provides on-going relationship management support and direction to ensure the continued vitality of the assessment programs.
Mark Bruner, Vice President of Information Technology
Mark Bruner is responsible for software development, quality assurance, R&D, technical operations, technical support, and database development. Mr Bruner has more than 20 years experience in the information technology industry supporting financial services, insurance, and software businesses. He has a proven track record for building business-oriented software solutions and developing highly motivated and skilled technical staff. Mr. Bruner earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Ollie Fowler, Vice President of Sales
Ollie Fowler brings over 25 years of sales experience in the high technology industries of computer hardware and software with 18 years as a sales manager and senior sales executive. He has successfully developed and managed direct and VAR sales channels, as well as major account organizations of industry leading software and services companies. A career sales professional, Mr. Fowler has demonstrated consistent success by combining the knowledge gained from his field sales experience with the additional knowledge developed from leading multiple, successful sales organizations. Mr. Fowler is responsible for the leadership of the corporate sales effort at pan and its continued growth and development both as an independent sales team, as well as an overall part of the TALX sales strategy.
John Montgomery, Director, Program Management Office
John Montgomery is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), with more than twenty years of experience with the management of large-scale, mission-critical business systems. He also has extensive experience in leadership roles in both small and large organizations. He has a proven ability to plan and execute strategies, develop market opportunities, and effectively manage project resources to achieve results, even under adverse business conditions. Mr. Montgomery is responsible ensuring that all customer implementation and internal projects follow pan’s project management processes and that all projects are delivered timely, efficiently and with the highest possible quality. Mr. Montgomery also has an extensive background in IT security, and has acted as Information Systems Security Officer on two federal programs during the last 3 years.
Jared Owens, Product Manager
Jared Owens has managed the development queue and overall pan development operations, while being responsible for the quoting, allocation of resources, and forecasting project needs. Mr. Owens currently is responsible for product management and new product features and vision. He also assists in the sales process as a product expert for both customer education and sales closing, and he serves as a resource for the IT group during client projects.
Susan Mikesell, Controller
Susan Mikesell has more than 15 years of finance and accounting experience, specializing in start-up and venture capital funded businesses. She has implemented procedures to streamline recurring financial reporting requirements. Ms. Mikesell is responsible for the management and leadership of the day-to-day accounting duties. She oversees all financial reporting for the organization, ensuring that meaningful and accurate financial reports are provided. Ms. Mikesell manages several large government contracts, ensuring that all accounting and reporting requirements are met.
